XML Builder allow you to automate administrative tasks on a MS OLAP Server without complex programming. XML Builder belongs to the OLAP
WEBHOUSE™ Management Tools.

With XML Builder it is really easy to :

Script with XML an entire cube, a database or any single part of an existing MS OLAP Structure.

Create, modify, delete olap databases or single elements (cubes, dimensions, calculated members, roles...).

Automate the creation or maintenance process of the OLAP Databases you are in charge of whereever your OLAP Server is located.

How It Works
With XML Builder you can easily generate an XML script of any element of a MS Analysis Services structure and redo the script (with or without modification) on another MS Analysis Server. XML Builder use a simple yet very effective XML schema to describe OLAP META-DATA and actions you want to operate.(such as CREATE, ALTER or DROP). An understanding of MS Analysis Services OLAP Structures is sufficient to leverage the power of XML Builder.

As you can see no development skill is needed, the previous script simply describes what we want to achieve.

XML Builder is delivered as several different tools, to easily match your working habits :

-With the MS Analysis Manager Wizard, you can in a few clics :
a) generate the XML definition of the OLAP structure that you selected.
b) apply an XML Builder script to one or several existing MS Analysis Server.

- With the Command line tool, you can launch a whole set of modifications to a MS Analysis Services Server
- With the MS Data Transformation Services Custom Task, you can integrate your XML Builder scripts to your own MS DTS Package.
